We’ll give you a quick call, usually no more than 10 minutes to confirm meter details and consumption – we’ll answer any questions you have and read a quick verbal contract.
Once you’ve chosen your tariff, you can sit back and let us do the work for you. We’ll guide you through every step of the way to make it as smooth as possible.
You should receive a renewal notice around 60 days before the fixed-term contract ends. This will include, your annual consumption in kwh and cost per year, it should also include a contract renewal price. This may be much higher than you paid last time as suppliers, in a similar way to car insurance companies, hike up their renewal rates. The information in the letter is extremely useful if you want to switch suppliers without spending lots of time speaking to different companies.
For contracts starting on or after 30 April 2015, the maximum notice period for terminating a micro business contract has been reduced from 90 to 30 days. While the situation has improved, some SME customers may not fully understand the information on their business energy bills. This can commonly leave businesses open to being overcharged for ‘deemed contracts’ or ‘deemed rates’, out-of-contract business energy tariffs that cost up to 80% more.
Always remember the sooner you start the process of finding a cheaper deal the better, we would advise not to leave it too late as you may suffer out of contract prices as above. The great news is that we will beat your renewal price and try to keep your energy prices in line with your expectations. Just call or complete the form and let us do the hard work for you.
We can send the notice on your behalf or can terminate using the LOA (Letter of authority).
Please note: Suppliers must take all reasonable steps to acknowledge termination notice within five working days of receipt.

What are out-of-contract rates?
Out-of-contract rates are the rates that you must pay when you’re not signed up to energy contract with your energy supplier.
They are usually much higher than contracted rates.
You will pay out-of-contract rates:
Out-of-contract rates can double the typical market rate from your supplier – for example, a standing charge of £2 a day, and a unit rate of 20p/kWh, compared to a typical rate of 25p a day, and 12p/kWh.
There is no limit on the rates a supplier can charge to out-of-contract customers’, so the cost of a simple mistake can be significant for your business.
